Known as the second largest aquarium of India, Bangalore Aquarium is located at the entrance of Cubbon Park. Set in an octagonal shaped (diamond shaped) building, Aquarium was opened in 1983. Aquarium comprises of three floors. Apart from the office and laboratory that are set on the ground floor, there is a little outlet for fish feed there. The upper row houses 23 medium sized tanks whereas the lower row comprises of 46 small tanks, all these tanks display ornamental fishes. The specialty of Aquarium is that it houses a similar habitat to which the fishes are habitual.
